This workshop is a hands-on training program designed for shelter veterinarians, shelter staff, animal control officers, and anyone else responsible for humane animal euthanasia. In this comprehensive, day-long certification course, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform compassionate and humane euthanasia by injection on an animal when necessary.
Students will learn:
• Classroom theory, including anesthetics, anatomy, injection sites, drug mechanism, proper dosage, and legal record keeping.
• Application of the skills necessary for performing humane euthanasia.
Successful completion of this course will accredit students as Certified Euthanasia Technicians (CETs) with a basic foundation of practical skills and a sound understanding of the entire euthanasia process.
