Eligibility
- Are a voting member of The Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies
- Are current on data reporting through Shelter Animals Count and (if applicable) have submitted a response to the Spay/Neuter Survey for the previous year
- Agree to use grant funds solely for spay/neuter surgeries of owned or community dogs, cats or rabbits residing in Washington state
- Use the funds to increase the total number of spay/neuter surgeries performed or subsidized by your organization
Grant Requirements
- Agree to use funds within a six month period
- Grant recipients are ineligible to apply again for twelve months following receipt of funds
- Agree to provide a final report on how funds were used, including:
- Financial accounting of funds
- Written results of project, including photos, if possible
- How the SPAY ~ NEUTER ~ ADOPT license plate was promoted
Priority Given to Organizations
- Target cats, Pit Bull breed/Pit mixes and other “at risk” populations
- Target pets of low income pet owners
- Target areas with restricted access to low cost spay/neuter surgery
- Target communities with high euthanasia rates
- Can provide the highest number of spay/neuter surgeries for the lowest cost
- Work collaboratively with other organizations
We do not currently grant funds for spay/neuter of adoptable animals.
