Spay/Neuter Grants

Starting in early 2007, The Federation began to receive revenue from the sales of We Love Our Pets specialty license plates. In an effort to be proactive regarding the pet overpopulation problem in our state, these funds were earmarked through an agreement with the State of Washington for spay/neuter surgeries. As of the end of 2018, over $612,000 in grant funds have been awarded by The Federation, enabling the completion of more than 17,000 spay/neuter surgeries in Washington state!

In early 2019, a redesigned specialty plate, SPAY ~ NEUTER ~ ADOPT, was introduced. The Federation continues to make quarterly grants of up to $5000 to member organizations for the spay or neuter of dogs, cats and rabbits. Grant proposals are accepted on a quarterly basis, with application deadlines falling on March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31. The Federation is accepting grant applications through our online application system. To begin the application process, click here. Please note that you may save your progress on the application for up to 28 days after initiating an application. Questions regarding the grant process may be directed to Programs Administrator Cora Wells and/or Board President Hilary Hager.
